History and Formation
Who We Are:
MSG Personal Lines Agency, LLC was founded in 2007 by Mitchell Gerber, Stephen
Gerber and Craig Barnet. The founders saw a need for a professional, service driven
and relationship based personal lines insurance brokerage firm specializing in
high net worth clients. Collectively they bring over half a century of experience
in the insurance and risk management fields to the MSG organization. Their wealth
of insurance knowledge and operational expertise stems from their backgrounds
as former insurance agency owners, through previous employment with insurance
carriers, and as principals in one of the largest Risk Management consulting firms
in North America.
What We Do:
Insurance policies are only one way to address the risks our clients face everyday
in the world. In a lot of cases, insurance products are not available to address
a specific exposure. This is why a total Personal Risk Management philosophy is
needed. We define Personal Risk Management as the technique or profession of assessing,
minimizing, and preventing accidental loss to ones tangible assets through the
use of insurance, contractual risk transfer, risk avoidance techniques, safety
measures, etc. That is the approach we take at MSG Personal Lines Agency, LLC.
We are not here to just sell insurance policies. We are here to provide a total
Risk Management approach to our clients’ personal needs.
How We Do It:
We have based our business model on a consultative, “ground up” approach to
the personal insurance brokerage industry. This approach is derived from our experience
in the Insurance and Risk Management Consulting profession. Unlike our competitors,
we take the time to carefully analyze our clients’ exposures via our detailed
Risk Profile Assessment Profile (RPA). The RPA is a carefully crafted document
used to gather pertinent information and get our clients to provide us with as
much detail as possible about their exposures. We then use the RPA to craft a
Personal Risk Management program designed to best cover our clients’ exposures.
When an insurance product is the best method to address an exposure, we approach
the insurance marketplace to obtain coverage options. We speak the language of
Insurance Company underwriters and present your risk in an accurate and favorable
light. This allows us to obtain the best policies, maximum coverages and limits
available, as well as the most competitive premiums possible.
